Another year is coming to a closure, and that means a new one is about to start.

However, we should do it properly. Clear up and close the year with a goodbye ritual to make space for all the new blessings and adventures of the upcoming year.

Here is the suggested powerful ritual to close 2024 with a touch of magic and deep gratitude:

  1. Set the mood: Light up a candle, burn some sacred herbs or an incense, prepare yourself a relaxing herbal tea (lavender, chamomile, or holy basil are great options) and play relaxing music.

  2. Ground yourself: Take a couple of deep breaths, until you feel yourself tuning in with yourself, your body, your heart. It should feel like your mind and your body are present in alignment with this current time and space.

  3. Journal/Make a list: Recap the year, the ups, the downs, the challenges and the victories. The lessons, the dreams, the aha moments, etc. All of it.

  4. Gratitude prayer: After your are done with your recap, then send a gratitude prayer to all of it, specially your angels and guides, the goddess, the Great Spirit, the Universe, your Highest Self... all of it brought you here, and for that we are in deep gratitude.

  5. Release/Let go: The fun part comes next, if you feel called, we burn that list. We release it and transmute that energy with the help of the fire. Make sure you do this safely, on a pan, or on top of a sink. The point is to release, and make space for the new.

    What comes next...

  6. Set Intentions for 2025: The same day, or next day, on a brand new page, we set intentions. If you do this the next day, make sure you repeat steps 1 and 2. :)

    1. Make sure your intentions are connected to your highest self, and the life you want to live and create.

    2. Do not follow cookie cutter resolutions that maybe are not even yours, and do not feel true to yourself.

    3. Intentions are powerful, they are like spells, so choose your words wisely and tune into that energy as you are writing them down. Feel them becoming real, feel them like they are in the present, happening now.

  7. Gratitude prayer: Say a prayer like those intentions already happened. Be in deep gratitude because the seeds have been planted, and they will come true, so receive them in deep gratitude.

  8. Place the list in your altar or sacred space: I love setting my list where I can see it in my altar, where I have crystals, vision boards, sacred geometry, prayers, and other sacred items for me. That is the space where I can connect in prayer, and in meditation to that elevated frequncy of manifesting ever more love, light, blessings, dreams, etc, and my intentions for the calendar year. If you want, you can also, plant the seed (letter/list) literally under the soil in your garden, or a planter in your home. The point is to trust that the seeds have been planted, and the rest is taken care off.

  9. Close the ritual: Close the ritual by saying out loud: AND SO IT IS, AND SO IT IS, AND SO IT IS. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

    BONUS

  10. Oracle Card: If you own Oracle Cards, I love the ritual of opening 13 cards of your favorite deck. Pull 1 card for each month, and the 13th for the theme of the year. Take a picture and save it to reveal the themes each month as you go through the year. It is so fun and a great way to connect with the magic of the wheel of the year.
